Things worth stating plainly, in one place, rather than burying in a policy nobody opens.
Affiliate links
Gear suggestions are ordered by how many drills a piece of equipment unlocks for your player, never by what pays the most. Every suggestion says which drills it opens up, so you can judge whether it is worth it. A tee and a bucket of balls appear first because they unlock the most, not because they earn the most — they are among the cheapest things on the list.
The app never invents or rewrites a tracking code on a link you add yourself. You can add your own retailers, and you can remove any suggestion you do not want to see.
Not affiliated with anyone
Diamond Quest is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Major League Baseball, USA Baseball, Little League, USSSA, Babe Ruth League, Pony Baseball, any softball association, any team, or any equipment manufacturer. Product names and retailer names belong to their owners and are used only to describe what a thing is.
The characters, creatures, stadium, story and artwork in Diamond Quest are original to this app.
Safety and health
- Throwing limits are based on widely published youth guidelines and are general, not individual. A child’s coach or doctor knows things the app does not.
- Pain is a stop signal, not an obstacle. Stop, and get it looked at.
- An adult should be present and paying attention for every session.
- Where a drill names protective equipment — a mask, a screen, a chest protector — that equipment is required.
How video evaluation works
By default, a clip is reviewed by you, through a structured form that asks what you saw. Nothing is analyzed by a machine unless you deliberately connect an outside service and grant the separate consent for it, which is off until you turn it on.
Any evaluation, whoever produced it, is an opinion about a few seconds of video shot from one angle. The app records its own confidence and lowers it when conditions differ between clips, rather than presenting a shaky comparison as fact.
What the app deliberately will not do
- It does not assign a skill level, rating, rank, grade or percentile to a child. Ever.
- It does not compare one child to another, including siblings.
- It does not project whether a child will make a team or play at any level.
- It does not take back anything a child has earned.
- It does not show a child anything that shames them for not practicing.
Rewards
Real-world rewards are agreed between a parent and their child and are honored by the parent. In-app coins and XP have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed outside the app.
